PROJECT:

Constructing Another ‘Work of Art’

Connect Scaffolding were contracted by the Henry Moore Foundation to provide access and protection to allow for a 21,000kg Bronze Sculpture by Henry Moore to be cleaned.

Large Figure in a Shelter, was completed in 1986. At over 7 m in height, the work becomes an architectural space large enough to walk through and around, allowing the viewer to inhabit the same sheltered space as the sculptural figure.

Connect used the Layher Allround system due to its easy adaptability to provide the various cantilevered levels required in and around the curves of the sculpture.

Henry Moore (1898 –1986) was an English sculptor and artist, he was best known for his abstract monumental bronze sculptures which are located around the world as public works of art.
